JOB SUMMARY:
Work with the Assistant to the Dean and Secretary to the Deans office. Provide administrative support with strong work ethic: communicating with patrons and librarians/staff, data entry, occasional deliveries and pick-ups around campus, create documents and signage, help organize the office, answer general inquiries. Responsible for daily walk-through of building to document and report facility and housekeeping issues. Responsible for maintaining bulletin board postings. Assist with other library tasks. Shifts would be scheduled between 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday. Students who applied to the general library posting previously are encouraged to reapply.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with basic administrative functions of an office. Filing, sorting, collating, maintaining records, light office duties and running errands.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with department/office procedures, and knowledge of specific software programs as needed. Strong attention to detail; consistent work ethic and reliability. Experience with data entry. Ability to take direction and understand verbal and written instructions. Punctual and communicative with good attendance and clear understanding that work study jobs are paid work. Ability to work independently, as well as good customer service and interpersonal skills.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS:
Pushing book carts, assist with moving furniture, standing, occasional exposure to dusty shelves, packaging and lifting boxes of up to 50 lbs.
This job is contingent upon a Federal Work Study (FWS) award. Please be prepared to provide your FWS award amount and daytime M-F work availability at time of interview.
