-The Graduate Assistant Mentor is responsible for the academic and personal advising of a group of first year students
-Participates in three week training starting June 1
-Facilitates Pirate Adventures in June and August
-Instructs several sections of the University Life course (fall) and SKIL course (spring)
-Advises first year students throughout their first year (first three semesters)
-Communicates professionally with all members of the university community
-Instructs study skills workshops in collaboration with the Academic Resource Center (fall and spring)
-Presents at Open Houses and Freshman Previews as needed (these events are on weekends)
-Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Dean of Freshman Studies and Special Academic Programs

-Applicants must possess an understanding and a willingness to support the Seton Hall University Catholic Mission
-Applicants must be available to work 12 months. May through August are high volume
-Applicants must be accepted into a Master’s Degree program
-Graduate Assistants must work 20 hours a week – over at least a three day period
-One year of post-baccalaureate professional experience and/or academic work is preferred.

- Desired applicants will have teaching and/or tutoring experience
- Desired applicants will be available for two years
