The Department of Psychology at Seton Hall University (https://www.shu.edu/academics/artsci/psychology/) invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position to being in Fall 2024. The area of specialization is open, but applicants should be able to teach core classes in psychology such as Introduction to Psychology and Research Methods.
Seton Hall University is in South Orange, New Jersey, 14 miles from New York City. It is the oldest Catholic diocesan institution of higher education in the United States. It is home to approximately 6,300 undergraduate and 4,700 graduate students from all 50 states and more than 60 foreign countries. Faculty in the Seton Hall Psychology Department have diverse basic and applied research interests and value high quality teaching and substantive service. Coursework emphasizes scientific thinking and experiential learning within a broad range of basic, applied, and laboratory classes. Additionally, we are a highly collegial department with a strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The initial contract will be for the 2024-2025 AY but may be renewed contingent on a strong evaluation and need for the position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include teaching four undergraduate courses per semester and holding a minimum of four office hours per week. The specific courses will vary based on a combination of departmental needs and instructor specialization; they may include Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants should hold a PhD, PsyD, or a doctorate in a field closely related to psychology. Applicants who are in the process of completing a doctorate will be considered, although the degree must be completed by the time of appointment.

Desired Qualifications:

College-level teaching experience is preferred.
