This position will serve International Student Services at OIP with day to day office operations as well as international student advising and programming initiatives on campus, This position will also work closely with undergraduate and graduate admissions office to support their international student recruiting initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Office (ARO) for F-1 and J-1 students. Support current and prospective F-1 and J-1 students on international student related issues, providing advisory and documentation services and information on a variety of issues, including, but not limited to employment, visas, enrollment and travel.
2.Work closely with Undergraduate Admissions and Graduate Admissions office to contribute to university wide international student recruitment strategies by supporting their recruitment events such as attending on-campus and off-campus fairs, webinars, perspective student advising on immigration related matters and conducting research and providing input on international recruitment trends and strategies.
3.Develop and implement campus-wide international programming initiatives to contribute to globalization and fostering a welcoming campus culture for the international community. Through various programming initiatives, promote and support global student mobility initiatives as well as contributing to the overall well-being of the international community. Work with various campus units including student clubs (International Student Association) to support the international student population to successfully complete their education. Work closely with Career Services to support international students with post-graduation opportunities.
4.Provide support to office functions in the OIP, including providing direction to work study students. Delegate office communications, OIP@shu.edu email account maintenance and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
5.Update and maintain student records in SEVIS and Terra Dotta on an ongoing basis.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Required.
At least 1 year working in an International Student office environment within Higher Education Institution.
Familiarity with international student recruitment as well as advising.
Familiarity with policies and procedures pertaining to F-1 and J-1 status.

Salary Grade:

AD150 - Administrative

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt

Physical Demands: General Office Environment
