Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Mathematics with a 3-3 course load, and the expectation to maintain active research agenda.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The teaching load for tenure-track faculty at Seton Hall is 18 credits per year, equivalent to 2-3 courses per semester. A successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high-quality research program of publications and grants and be able to supervise undergraduate research projects. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has multiple undergraduate and graduate programs and collaborates extensively with students and faculty in biology, biochemistry, business, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Seton Hall University is investing in STEM fields, including hires and new programs and support in computer science and engineering, and a robust, research active mathematics faculty is key to this initiative. The successful applicant will be able to teach the department's offerings in Mathematical Analysis, including the upper level Analysis and Advanced Topics in Analysis, as well as Calculus 1-2-3 and the Business math service course.

Required Qualifications:

Candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics by August 2024.

Desired Qualifications:

Priority will be given to applicants in the field of Analysis, broadly construed, including geometric analysis, classical analysis, dynamics, partial differential equations, probability, numerical analysis and scientific computing, and applied mathematics. While teaching responsibilities will include mathematics courses at all undergraduate levels, including service courses, applicants would be expected to teach the upper-level Analysis sequence and possible Complex Variables. The ability to support classes in the Financial Mathematics major would be considered a plus.
