      The Psychology Department at Seton Hall University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach an in-person course in Psychopharmacology starting January 2026. This 3000-level (i.e., upper division) course is required of students in our BS in Cognitive Neuroscience, and a potential elective for students in the Psychology major. Course Description and select learning objectives from the Catalogue: “A comprehensive examination of the mechanisms by which drugs interact with the brain and behavior, with emphasis on the role of neurotransmitter systems. • Describe the field of psychopharmacology and its relation to other subfields within psychology and neuroscience. • Explain how pharmacokinetic factors interact to determine drug bioavailability. • Identify the main classes of abused drugs, describe their mechanisms of action and their behavioral effects • Identify the major classes of drugs used in the treatment of major psychiatric and neurological disorders, describe their mechanisms of action and their behavioral effects “ In the Psychology Department, all new adjunct faculty are paired with full-time faculty mentors to help the individual develop their teaching through conversation and course observation.
