The AV Equipment Coordinator is responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, delivery, and coordination of audio-visual equipment used in support of classes, meetings and special events held on the Newark Law School campus. The AV Coordinator works with and provides training to student workers, faculty, administrators, and other members of the university community on identifying the proper equipment needed in the classroom as well troubleshoot/resolving issues over the phone and in person.
This position is second shift: Sunday 8am – 4pm and Monday – Thursday 1pm to 9pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance/Repairs/Installation: Perform preventative maintenance and/or minor repairs to audio visual equipment installed in classrooms, conference rooms, courtrooms, event spaces and other areas of the law school. Perform routine checks of all classrooms with installed AV equipment. Perform minor mechanical and electrical tasks related to audio visual equipment.

Coordinate equipment delivery/Inventory of equipment: Maintain audio-visual equipment inventory and track equipment delivered throughout law school. Coordinates activities of and supervise student workers. Deliver and recover AV equipment around law school as necessary.

Troubleshooting: Provide assistance over the phone, through computer and in person to all users of audio-visual technology on issues that may arise in the classroom or in the course of a meeting/conference. Use the Help Desk database Jira to address trouble tickets and calls.

Provide training to student workers, faculty, administrators, staff and guests on the use of AV technology installed on the law school Newark campus. Assist in and operate AV equipment in support of events.

Perform clerical duties, including but not limited to answering the telephone, taking reservations, tracking issues and events, and keeping schedules.


Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Vocational or technical training in Audio -Visual Technology, CTS

$27.385/hour
