This position is responsible for engineering cloud and on-premises software solutions that adhere to Seton Hall University’s enterprise architecture and strategic IT plan. The responsibilities include both integrating existing and new solutions together and deploying/provisioning new infrastructure using industry standard automation tools. The solutions cover IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS infrastructure with a focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS). He/she works with the Network team, Security team, and the Architecture team and other resources including Systems Support and various administrators throughout campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain automated provisioning and deployment solutions for IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS services with a specific focus around Amazon Web Services.

2. The Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain integration solutions for IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS services with a specific focus around Amazon Web Services.

3. The Cloud Engineer will analyze existing IT processes and augment/replace them with automated solutions using industry standard software

4. The Cloud Engineer will work to fully document all automation workflows and solutions including both Enterprise Architecture design data, and a high level of IT security information.

The Cloud Engineer will automate both new and existing infrastructure to match accepted industry standards using various technical tools with a primary focus on IaC, SaaS, and PaaS solutions. They will work closely with the IT Architect to make sure automation and integration are designed into any IT architecture required for existing or new projects.

The Cloud Engineer will have strong interpersonal skills and attend meetings at all levels of administration and be prepared to contribute to all cloud related discussions.

The position requires a minimum of five years of hands-on experience performing operational, implementation, and engineering functions for a complex enterprise infrastructure.

Strong troubleshooting methodologies.

Support and deploy Cloud computing services, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS deployments

Implement Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Tofu, Ansible, Git, etc.)

Research new technologies and prototype new ideas

Collaborate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the Cloud

Required Qualifications:

HS Diploma, 5-8 years of related experience

Desired Qualifications:

BA/MS Preferred

Salary Range:

$104,000 - $143,000

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt
