The Environmental Studies Program at Seton Hall University (https://www.shu.edu/academics/ba-environmental-studies.html) invites applications for an adjunct instructor of Environmental Studies for Spring 2027. The ideal candidate has an interdisciplinary background in the environmental social sciences or sustainability sciences, with both research and teaching experience. Applicants must be prepared to teach Introduction to Environmental Studies, our signature introductory survey course for both majors and non-majors.

Environmental Studies at Seton Hall is an interdisciplinary program in the College of Arts & Sciences that draws on faculty expertise in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities to study the complex relationships between humans and their environment. Students also learn by doing, with credit-bearing internships and other experiential learning opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching one 1000-level course (Introduction to Environmental Studies) during the Spring 2027 semester, with the possibility for renewal in future semesters.

Required Qualifications:

PhD in Environmental Studies, Sustainability Education, Environmental Policy, Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, or related fields. ABD candidates may be considered but the degree must be completed at the time of appointment.

$3690-$3997
