The head coach is responsible for organization, development, administration and coordination of a competitive NCAA Division I women’s golf program. They must have knowledge of and strictly adhere to NCAA, BIG EAST, University and departmental rules, policies and procedures. The head coach must have the ability to recruit and retain athletically and academically qualified student-athletes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coaching Responsibilities
1. Organize, direct, and administer all aspects of the program
2. Develop Volleyball program to be competitive in the BIG EAST Conference
3. Create a safe and positive environment for student-athletes to learn and be challenged
4. Emphasize and enforce the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct
5. Practice good sportsmanship and the highest standards of professional conduct
6. Must strive to be professionally current in their sport
7. Identify and delegate duties to assistant coach
8. Adhere to Athletics Department code of conduct
Recruit and Retain Student-Athletes
1. Recruit and retain athletically and academically qualified student-athletes
2. Commit to each student-athlete’s academic achievement
3. Adhere to NCAA, BIG EAST, University, and Athletic department policies and procedures
4. Pass the annual NCAA Coaches Certification Test
5. Maintain required documentation for NCAA rules compliance
6. Determine the distribution of athletically related financial aid
7. Maintain contact with top-tier prospective student-athletes and their parent(s)/guardian(s)
Administration
1. Coordinate a competitive NCAA Division I schedule
2. Organize and direct team practices
3. Support the mission and goals of the University and Department of Athletics
4. Maintain budget control and fiscal responsibility
5. Maintain appropriate documentation for business expenditures and NCAA rules compliance
6. Work closely with sport administrator and travel coordinator to secure travel arrangements
7. Work closely with equipment manager to procure equipment needs
8. Attend required rules compliance reviews
9. Maintain on-campus office hours
Public Relations
1. Promote a positive image of Seton Hall University at all times
2. Participate on University and departmental committees
3. Support your team’s Life Skills and community relations’ projects
4. Support sports information office with information for publicity purposes
5. Support marketing efforts through appearances and promotions
Fundraising
1. Support fundraising activities of Pirate Blue and the University
2. Cultivate new donors and new opportunities to raise funds

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Desired Qualifications:

1-3 years experience as an NCAA Division I head or assistant golf coach.

Licenses and Certificates:

Valid Driver’s license

Salary Range:

$52,000 - $71,500

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt

Physical Demands: General Office Environment
