JOB SUMMARY

The Summer Assistant will contribute to the work of the Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) by supporting various teams and areas, including the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center, Walsh Library Computer Lab, Esports Gaming Lab, Service Desk, Technical Support Area, and IT administrative offices.

This role involves engaging in a range of office programs to assist with ongoing tasks and projects. Key responsibilities include supporting budget-related processes, maintaining spreadsheets, and completing other administrative tasks. Proficiency in Excel, Jira and Canvas, is essential.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities:

•             Assist with tracking departmental expenditure and keeping budget-related spreadsheets current.

•             Support the preparation and delivery of training sessions and departmental learning activities by helping with setting up materials, and logistics.

•             Help maintain the department’s inbox by responding to student questions, sharing messages with appropriate staff, and keeping communications organized.

•             Contribute to the smooth operation of spaces such as the Walsh Library and Esports Lab by offering on-site assistance, restocking supplies (e.g., paper, toner), and noting any equipment issues for follow-up.

•             Help facilitate the use of lab spaces and mobile carts for events by preparing the areas and working alongside staff to ensure readiness.

•             Take part in compiling weekly updates, printer usage reports, and inventory reviews to support informed decisions about supply needs and usage.

•             Provide general administrative assistance to various ITS office teams as needed.

Candidates must possess:

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Leadership qualities

- Time management skills

- Possess professionalism, critical thinking skills, and conflict resolution abilities.

- Budgeting experience

- Proficiency in Excel and Excel coding

Must be enrolled at least half-time for Fall 2025
