Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide Career Advising: Offer one-on-one career advising sessions to students and alumni, assisting them with resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and career planning.
• Conduct Workshops and Presentations: Develop and deliver workshops and presentations on various career-related topics such as networking, job search strategies, interview skills, and professional development.
• Assist with Event Coordination: Collaborate with the Career Center team to plan, organize, and execute career-related events.
• Support Career Resources: Help manage and update career resources including Handshake, career development materials, and informational handouts to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available to students and alumni.
• Contribute to Marketing and Outreach Efforts: Assist in promoting Career Center programs and services through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and campus-wide announcements.
• Administer Assessments and Surveys: Conduct assessments and surveys to gather feedback from students and alumni and assist in analyzing data to improve career services and programs.
• Collaborate with Campus Partners: Work closely with faculty, staff, and student organizations to establish partnerships and develop collaborative initiatives that enhance career development opportunities for Seton Hall University students.
• Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Stay informed about current trends, issues, and best practices in career development, and share relevant information with students and staff.
Required Qualifications:
• Enrollment in a Seton Hall University graduate program is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and effectively engage with diverse populations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with career services management systems or databases.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
