JOB SUMMARY:

Student Technology Assistants are our academic consultants for excellence and assist with maintaining the classroom audiovisual equipment and implementing faculty technology projects. STAs are also responsible for providing support to all phases of Teaching, Learning and Technology Center operations, including, but not limited to; web content, graphic design, multimedia production, Blackboard support, classroom technology support and general tech support.

STAs are specifically trained to handle tasks such as audio and video production and editing, document scanning with or without optical character recognition (OCR), digital imaging. Certain members of the STA team will work closely with the web development team to update content on the University website. The Digital Media team also often employs these student workers to beta test our projects as well as provide quality assurance reviews. Training will be provided to students, for any given technology task they may be working on.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative student with a willingness to learn and participate as part of a team in all areas of educational technology. The student should be organized, detail oriented, flexible, and prepared to offer excellent customer service.

Daily Responsibilities can include:

• Setup / Breakdown of classroom technology equipment

• Front desk support

• Administrative Support

• Audio / Video Production

• Scanning/Digitizing Documents

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic technical knowledge with ability to learn new skills. Must be detail oriented and have ability to work with others. Must also demonstrate good project management and administrative skills. Strong interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication skills are a must.
