Assistant Director of Sports Performance

The Assistant Director of Sports Performance is responsible for designing and administering performance enhancement and injury prevention training programs for student-athletes. Programs based on sport-specific training paradigms that are scientifically sound and progressive. Instructs student- athletes on proper execution of warm up, plyometric, anaerobic, resistance, aerobic, and recovery training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Baseball and Softball
-Develop sport-specific training programs
-Coordinate all aspects of conditioning using various anaerobic, aerobic and plyometric programs
-Summer manuals-develop year round strength and conditioning program using periodization model
-Assist athletic trainer with rehab of injured student-athletes
-Administer strength and conditioning tests and analyze results
2. Additional Sport assignments as directed by the Director of Strength and Conditioning
-Develop sport-specific training programs
-Coordinate all aspects of conditioning using various anaerobic, aerobic and plyometric programs
-Summer manuals-develop year round strength and conditioning program using periodization model
-Assist athletic trainer with rehab of injured student-athletes
-Administer strength and conditioning tests and analyze results
3. Oversight and Supervision of the Varsity Weight Room
- Coordinate time schedules for use of the weight room by each sport team and individual student-athletes
- Conduct orientation meetings for student-athletes on such issues as facility rules, the value of proper training and nutrition, and the dangers of banned substances.
- Assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning with the selection, installation, and maintenance of performance equipment, including cleaning and repair.
- Assist with on-campus recruiting activities for prospective student-athletes
4. Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the coaching and implementations of training programs for all student athletes
5. Drug Testing
- Assist with random and team drug testing for all student-athletes.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree – Field of study: Sport Performance or related field

Desired Qualifications:

Master’s degree

Licenses and Certificates:

Certification- Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification; Current CPR and First Aid.
Valid Drivers License.

Salary Range:

$44,800 - $61,600

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt

Physical Demands: General Office Environment
