The Senior Student Success Advisor will report directly to the Assistant Dean for the Center for Academic Success. The Senior Student Success Advisor will serve as the primary supervisor for their assigned team and oversee the day–to–day responsibilities. The Senior Student Success Advisor will lead a core functional area (i.e. Pirate Pathway, Curriculum, Transfer, Undecided/Undeclared Students). The Senior Student Success Advisor will assist the Assistant Dean in the supervision of the Center for Academic Success. They will directly serve an assigned cohort of undergraduate students as the initial point of service for all first-year students in assisting and guiding their adjustment to university life. Will work with the Assistant Dean and other colleagues to initiate development of CORE-1001, SKIL-1104 and SKIL-1106 curriculum for fall and spring semesters. Will advise students' course registration throughout the first year with ongoing monitoring of academic progress throughout the first year. The "first-year" is defined as the successful completion of 30 credits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Directly supervise CAS Student Success Advisors - daily support, course scheduling &
assignments, continued training, provide annual performance reviews.

Review advising notes, complete classroom observations and serve as a professional
coach to reporting advisors, assisting the team in developing strong student service
and advisement approach.


Will advise students' course registration throughout the first year with ongoing
monitoring of academic progress throughout the first year. The "first-year" is
defined as the successful completion of 30 credits.

Instruct 2-3 sections of the Fall semester CORE-1001 course which all first-year
students must take and contribute to the creation of the 14-week course curriculum.
Instruction of this course is included in the advisor's base pay.

Be available for mentoring, academic advisement, and guidance throughout the first
year and maintain a working knowledge of other resources on campus for referrals.
Must be knowledgeable of FERPA, Title IX, Campus Security and all other required
university policies and procedures.

Spearhead office initiatives (which may include Transfer Student Services, Curriculum Development, Pirate Pathway program for conditionally accepted students, services to Pre-Major or Undecided students)

Lead team of Student Success Advisors and supervises their work, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. May offer input into decisions about hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree

Knowledge of and ability to use Banner, Cognos, EAB Navigate, Canvas, Degree Work.

Salary Grade:

AD160 - Administrative

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt

Physical Demands: General Office Environment
