The Clinical Placement Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and approve graduate and undergraduate student clinical placements; maintain and update files of available clinical sites each semester; handle all correspondence with prospective and current clinical sites; maintain clinical clearances on graduate and undergraduate students, maintain databases of preceptors, practice site information, and site visit quality assurance forms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Identify and recruits new clinical/practicum placement sites. May tour sites as needed. Attends required meetings at clinical affiliation agencies.
2. Maintains a list of the approved preceptors by clinical specialty. Identifies potential student learning experiences in clinical/practicum sites. Interacts with clinical agencies to plan for individual clinical practicum preceptor rotations.
3. Maintains clinical clearance records on students (Castlebranch). Prepares clinical clearance permission letters for graduate and undergraduate students. Maintains all files related to clinical assignments.
4. In collaboration with program directors, manages student clinical placement uses as appropriate. Collaborated with sites for improvements in administrative processes to enhance placements, and collects necessary paperwork and data for accreditation purposes.
5. Maintains database and verified state nursing and advanced practice licenses of preceptors. Collects CVs on each preceptor.
6. Initiate and maintain new clinical site affiliation agreements. Assure each student placement is at an appropriate and approved site that has a current and up to date agreement.
7. Maintain up to date records and electronic database to track affiliation agreements.
8. Collaborate and communicate with University legal department and Business Affairs to facilitate approval and signature of a variety of contracts including but not limited to standard and non-standard agreements.
9. Coordinate with program directors to assure student placements are appropriate and in line with the curriculum outcomes.
10. Share program information with the site supervisors, including program requirements for completion of the clinical practicums and program expectations as it relates to individual and group supervision.
11. Manage and maintain student/preceptor evaluation logs through the E-logs database. Assure each individual has a log-in and the ability to function within the site.
12. Complete appropriate trainings related to site specific requirements in order to assure students approval and clearance at each site.
13. Coordinate and communicate with colleagues regarding out of state placements and requirements to guarantee all out of state students have the appropriate documentation.
14. Maintain an active list of clinical placement sites
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred, 2-3 years related experience
Familiarity with New Jersey Heatlhcare Facilities.
