The Staff Psychologist/Mental Health Clinician works as a member of a collaborative team providing intake assessments, both group and time-limited individual counseling, and mental health programming to undergraduate and graduate students. The position also involves providing crisis intervention services during regular business hours as well as frequent consultation with faculty and administrators regarding the well-being of students. The Staff Psychologist/Mental Health Clinician participates in the department’s doctoral training program as a collaborator and supervisor. The Staff Psychologist/Mental Health Clinician is a critical part of the department’s service delivery and participates in a comprehensive program that is designed to enhance student development, foster responsible decision-making, facilitate the sense of campus community, and assure equitable, accessible, and quality clinical care to meet the psychological and developmental needs of students. The position supports the department’s and the University’s strategic initiative and commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all community members. The role requires possession of strong clinical skills, a demonstrated commitment to working effectively from a multicultural framework, the ability to manage a full client caseload, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Intake assessments
• Individual and group counseling/therapy
• In-person and tele-mental health services
• Crisis Intervention
• Case Management
• Outreach and Prevention Programming
• Consultation with staff, administrators, faculty, parents and students
• Participation in graduate training program

Required Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology with 1-3 years of relevant experience, and fully licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist in New Jersey
• Master’s degree and licensed as a Clinical Social Worker with 3-5 years of relevant experience
• NJ Licensed Professional Counselor with 5+ year of experience
• Demonstrated competence in time-limited individual psychotherapy and group counseling with individuals of diverse backgrounds
• Proven ability and commitment to working within a multiculturally responsive and inclusive counseling lens and successful experience in provision of psychological services to underrepresented and marginalized groups
• Demonstrated competence in outreach and prevention program planning and implementation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of and willingness to support the Seton Hall University Catholic Mission.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience providing clinical services within college/university counseling
• Specific areas of expertise and experience relevant to a diverse college student population
(e.g., multicultural issues, first generation college students, neurodiversity, short-term psychotherapy, group therapy)
• Experience as a clinical supervisor.

Licenses and Certificates:

• Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, fully licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist in New Jersey
• Master’s degree and licensed as a Clinical Social Worker with 3-5 years of relevant experience
• NJ Licensed Professional Counselor with 5+ year of experience

Salary Grade:

AD180 - Administrative
