JOB SUMMARY:

TV Studio Assistant

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student TV Studio Assistants are responsible to perform some, if not all of the following, tasks dependent upon their schedule of availability and how that coincides with classes and other needs of the facility, in addition to other duties as assigned:

 

Assist students during the Studio production classes as needed in the proper operation of the production equipment. They must be available for not less than two hours prior to the Studio Production class to assist in the production team in the building and lighting of sets ensuring that all applicable safety measures are followed. The TV Studio Assistant must be on call for any requests made by the administration, faculty or engineering staff in the preproduction phase of the class and guide students to ensure all set pieces and equipment are returned properly at the end of class.

 

The Student TV Studio Assistant will assist in the checking out and checking in of the field production equipment and ensure that students set up each piece of equipment they are going to and or have used to verify that all equipment is in working order and all parts are in place and functioning. In order to do this, the work study must gain familiarity with all associated field production equipment used in the various levels of video and film production classes.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

No prior experience necessary.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Majors in Visual Sound Media as well as those interested in media, broadcast and production are encouraged to apply.
