The Financial Systems Analyst will be a key member of the Financial Systems team, providing support for Banner, enhancement projects and strategic initiatives as it relates to the university’s ERP system and other technology. The Financial Systems Analyst will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of our financial systems bridging the gap between finance and IT.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the Banner Financial module as a functional administrator performing system implementations, administration, testing and daily support of existing applications
Review and maintain university system access to ensure proper workflow
Serves as a technical expert regarding all financial systems functionality, system, and device administration for both hardware and software
Establish minimum standards for user access and authorization; setup finance security for all new access; review and audit overall access periodically to determine proper user functionality and minimize finance risks
Assists in all finance system upgrades that may include the following: user testing, supporting and assisting other users with testing, liaising with University Information Systems to address and resolve bugs or other operational problems, investigate security issues, analyzing system security settings validating appropriate checks and balances are in place
Develop new training tools and models to support training non-financial University personnel on the use of financial systems and reports
Investigate system configuration options to provide functional expertise when developing solutions to meet business requirements; develop strategies to use standard functionality to meet business needs whenever possible
Lead the design and documentation of technical specifications, and ensure that they comply with business users’ requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology or related field.
3-5 years of professional experience in financial or information systems area.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in working with data management systems and/or demonstrated knowledge of systems to ensure proper integration of requirements into the database(s) to effectively produce reports.
Advanced knowledge in use of Excel spreadsheets, database software, query and reporting tools.
A minimum of three years working with Ellucian Banner or other similar financial information system.
