Responsible for developing and supervising experimental protocols of neuroimmune pharmacology at the Institute of Neuroimmune Pharmacology (INIP). Oversees all phases of the experiments. Plans research methodology, NIH grant applications and research dissemination and publications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Developing and supervising experimental protocols of neuroimmune pharmacology at the Institute of Neuroimmune Pharmacology (INIP)
2. Oversee and carry out the tissue preparation, cell culturing, DNA/RNA extraction, immunohistochemistry, reporter assay, qRT-PCR and PCR array processing, flow cytometry, DNA methylation quantification, gene editing, organoid culture, complete blood count (CBC), bioinformatics analysis (including using Ingenuity Pathway Analysis), various rodent behavioral assessment, and data acquisition and analysis for experiments at the INIP.
3. Prepare and publish the research articles of molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology, pharmacology and physiology at the INIP.
4. Routine planning of research methodology, conducting background research, analyzing and implementing research techniques in collaboration with the Director.
5. The Staff Scientist maintains a document of project plan and progress that will include a timeline of projected progress as well as the research updates and communication with the Director. In addition, he/she will share a running daily working file with the Director, participate in weekly INIP staff meetings and monthly research presentation meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Doctoral Degree (PHD or MD in biomedical/biochemical sciences and a minimum of 5 years of experience as a biomedical researcher is required.
