Seton Hall University School of Law welcomes applications for a Clinical Teaching Fellowship with the Health Advocacy and Collaboration (HAC) Law Clinic to begin during the 2026-27 academic year. The New Jersey State Bar Foundation (NJSBF) Clinical Teaching Fellowship is designed to launch the teaching careers of practitioners. The Fellow will co-supervise students engaged in clinic casework and holistic legal advocacy through the MLP, mentor law students, assist with teaching the clinic seminar, and share responsibility for case management and collaboration with the clinic’s health care partner. The Fellow will support the HAC Law Clinic year-round, including clinic casework and projects, administrative responsibilities, and MLP activities.
This fellowship is ideal for civil legal services attorneys interested in clinical legal education and holistic, interdisciplinary, and interprofessional advocacy. The Fellow will be appointed for an initial one-year term, with the possibility of renewal for 1 or 2 additional years.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Clinical Teaching Fellow will report directly to Professor Amy Saji, Associate Professor of Law and Founding Director of the HAC Law Clinic, which launched in 2025–2026. The Fellow will co-supervise students engaged in clinic casework and holistic legal advocacy through the MLP, mentor law students, assist with teaching the clinic seminar, and share responsibility for case management and collaboration with the clinic’s health care partner. The ideal candidate will be committed to a collaborative clinic model and integrating clinical pedagogy and holistic advocacy into student supervision, casework, administration, and the clinic seminar.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a J.D. degree and membership in good standing of the New Jersey Bar, or the ability to seek immediate admission by waiver. Experience practicing in New Jersey is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with at least 3 years of practice experience, although candidates with less experience will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with experience providing holistic civil legal services to low-income and marginalized communities in health-harming legal needs such as housing, disability, public benefits, education, family law, immigration, or related fields. Preference will be given to candidates with Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) experience, although applicants with transferable experience in interdisciplinary, interprofessional, or collaborative advocacy models are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to client-centered, interdisciplinary, and interprofessional advocacy, strong potential for teaching excellence, and the adaptability and collaborative spirit needed to work within an MLP.

Salary Range:
$72,000- $99,000
