Maintains, repairs, and installs all water piping systems and all plumbing fixtures on campus. The supervisor of this position is the Lead Plumber.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance, repair, and installation of all plumbing systems and all restrooms, laboratories, mechanical rooms, kitchens, safety eye washes, as well as all underground storm, sewer and water supply lines. Repairs leaks, solders joints, repairs washers, valves, and faucets.
Replaces defective fixtures (water coolers, urinals, commodes, sinks, showers and piping.)
Opens clogged drains, discharge lines, gutters, leaders, catch basins and grease traps.
Safely uses power equipment and hand tools in the performance of plumbing duties. (snakes, pumps, jetter, concrete cutters…)
Required Qualifications:
Maintains inventory of supplies and material, such as pipes, valves, washers, gaskets, rings and other parts.
Performs all work through an automated work order system and documents the hours and materials expended. Reports deficiencies beyond his responsibility on work orders or to the lead person.
Keeps lead person informed of all major jobs and any delays on major tasks.
Sweeps, vacuums, and cleans up work area after completion of job. Maintains tools so they are clean, operable, and properly stored.
Lifts heavy objects (over 50 pounds) on a regular, daily basis. Works in confined and restricted areas routinely. Works outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Performs other duties as assigned.

$41.82 per hour
