This is a vital position that exists to support the recruitment, enrollment, and contracting of college students interested in the ROTC program. Assistant to the Director of ROTC Admissions. Position is vital in ensuring the proper and legal processing of forms, the compliance of medical, academic, military, and physical requirements, and initiation of financial incentives and scholarship benefits for all qualified students. Additionally, it supports the marketing operation requiring the position to manage and execute a budget that funds recruiting and advertising expenses. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Services, Dean of the Center for Academic Success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enrollment of college students interested in participating in the ROTC program or pursuing a commission in the US Army. Processes contracting forms. Initiates and tracks medical evaluations through the Department of Defense Medical Evaluation Review Board. Reviews applications for accuracy. Registers eligible students into ROTC courses through the university. Supervises student workers and provides guidance to Gold Bar recruiters (30%).
- Manages the DODMETS enrollment process by screening and enrolling all qualified Cadets. Monitors the status of initial DODMETS Physical and the final DODMERB process. Assists Cadets with Remedials and the waiver process. Ensures CCIMS reflects all current DODMERB information (25%).
- Prospect management. Contacts interested students via phone, email, and mailing. Makes appointments and conducts briefings for information sessions. Receives and responds to phone, written, electronic mail, and walk-in customer requests for information on the ROTC program (20%).
- Manages requests for all work orders for Mooney Hall's fourth floor, including technology support for laptops and printers. Receives and distributes all incoming official mail and packages to appropriate sections within the ROTC program. Responsible for in-processing new Cadre into Seton Hall University as Faculty/Adjunct Professors. Ensure all Cadre receive an email account, school laptop, and instructions for obtaining a parking pass (15%).
- Coordinates with SHU Building managers for classroom and event space, to ensure adequate facilities are available to ROTC Cadre and Cadets. Manages requests and payment for all catered ROTC-sponsored events. Purchases and procures all supplies for ROTC (10%).
- Other duties as assigned through the Division of Student Services.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-3 years professional experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Solid judgment to ensure compliance with federal and military laws and regulations
- Customer focus and positive interpersonal skills to work in professional environment
- Time management and organization skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Vocational or technical training
- Associate's Degree
- Knowledge of Army ROTC programs, military structure or prior military service preferred (not required)
Licenses and Certificates:
- Driver's license (may need to operate government owned passenger vans)
- Required to pass the Army's licensing and safety courses
Salary Range:
$25.077 per hour
