JOB SUMMARY
Student Laptop Technicians provide technical support in the Technical Support Services Area in Corrigan Hall and around campus. Student Technicians are responsible for providing software and hardware technical support and troubleshooting for members of the Seton Hall community. Student technicians will document all work done in various databases as warranted. In addition, Student Technicians are expected to provide excellent customer service at all times.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Technicians will be responsible for:
• Greeting customers warmly and ascertaining the issue or reason for coming in
• Diagnosing and documenting laptop related issues
• Software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Servicing laptop hardware related issues and/or sending laptops for further repair
• Entering all walk-in requests into the JIRA database as well as checking on the status of current database requests
• Refilling printer paper, toner, and drums around campus
• Going out to service faculty or lab computers around campus
• Working on extra projects and tasks as needed between day-to-day operations.
Working with University Systems in development, implementation, troubleshooting, and training. Must attend training seminars and be knowledgeable in the areas needed to perform required services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a current Seton Hall student
• Understanding and/or experience with laptop hardware and software troubleshooting
• Knowledge of current Windows operating systems, in addition to basic knowledge of current MS Office products, and various other Seton Hall supported software and hardware
• Ability to quickly adapt to ever changing hardware and software products
• Someone who is articulate, organized and able to work as part of a team
• Basic knowledge of networking and connectivity
• Great customer service skills
• Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Other Physical Demands: Carrying reams of paper as needed to stock printers.
