The Customer Service Rep. is the interface between the Teaching Learning and Technology Center and the University community and the general public. Performs scheduling, troubleshooting, and training of university used media technology. Provides administrative and occasional clerical support for the classroom and event support team.
Work Schedule is 7am-3pm ( Mon-Fri) with occasional overtime during mission critical events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling support and AV equipment campus wide along with department managed spaces in support of classes and events using database and service level agreements.
Provide walk up support to TLTC and Media Services customers for equipment pick up/drop off. Greet and direct inquiries either in person or by phone placed by members of the university community and external visitors.
Assists callers with basic equipment troubleshooting issues and provides appropriate information as necessary. Occasional Reporting/Scheduling of maintenance to be preformed on department media equipment.
Trains Student Technology Assistants on use of, and the support of, audio visual equipment and customer service related duties.
Collaborates with other Media Services and Support staff on all campuses ( South Orange, Nutley, and Newark)
Maintains the office supplies, copier, and basic needs of the department members.
Required Qualifications:
1 - 3 Years customer service experience
Interpersonal and customer service skills for positive customer outcomes.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose problems and recommend effective solutions
Multitasking and organizational skills to work on multiple issues at one time
Active listening and communication skills.
Time-management skills to respond to customer emails, calls and web chat messages promptly
Teamwork skills to collaborate with coworkers and other campus partners
Technical skills to use voice-over-IP phones, Microsoft Office Suite, resource databases, email and chat software programs
