The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Seton Hall University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in the Fall 2025. We are seeking an outstanding teacher-scholar with expertise in one or more of the areas of analytical, organic or biochemistry and/or at their interfaces, e.g. bio-analytical, bio-organic. The successful candidate should be prepared to build a highly visible, externally funded research program in the area of interest, mentor graduate and undergraduate research students, teach introductory and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses, and be involved in service at the department, college, and university levels.

The 15 full-time faculty in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry have interests spanning the entire field and we value high-quality teaching, scholarship and service. We are offering graduate (Ph.D., M.S.), accelerated B.S.-M.S., and several undergraduate chemistry and biochemistry programs, including an ACS-certified B.S. in chemistry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate should be prepared to build a highly visible, externally funded research program in the area of interest, mentor graduate and undergraduate research students, teach introductory and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses, and be involved in service at the department, college, and university levels.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous, competitive, and externally funded research program. Applicants should hold a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related discipline, have postdoctoral experience, and a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
