The Stillman School of Business seeks to hire an Associate Dean of Assessment and Engagement, with a start date of January 2025 or earlier. The Associate Dean of Assessment and Engagement is a member of the senior leadership team and works with the team to set goals and strategy across all domains of the School. The Associate Dean is responsible for undergraduate and MBA assurance of learning/assessment. The Associate Dean also leads efforts to engage alumni and industry professionals in our students’ experience and has primary responsibility for undergraduate recruiting and yield efforts. The Associate Dean teaches two courses per year.

We will consider: (1) administrators with at least a master’s degree and applicable experience in a higher education environment or (2) faculty with a terminal degree who would be offered an option to pursue tenure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Undergraduate & MBA Assurance of Learning/Accreditation/Curriculum Management.
Manage all aspects of undergraduate and MBA assurance of learning, including: 1) Sophomore and Senior Assessment Panels (a curriculum requirement for over 1,500 undergraduate students); 2) MBA Assessment, including an initial assessment in the Launch Experience course and a capstone consulting project assessment; and 3) departmental course-embedded assessments. Identify curricular interventions for undergraduate and MBA programs and work with faculty to implement these across the curriculum. Responsible for all internal and external reporting on School’s assessment efforts and results, including accreditation reporting requirements for AACSB International.

2. Alumni & Industry Engagement. Lead efforts to engage the School’s alumni base and industry partners, including oversight of the School’s mentoring programs (i.e., Financial Women’s Association, Sophomore Mentoring Program), alumni dinner series, and all volunteer opportunities for alumni. Engage and cultivate alumni with the ultimate goal of bringing in funding to support the School and its students.

3. Undergraduate Enrollment Management – Admission, Yield, Retention. Responsible for all recruiting and yield events for the School, including Open House sessions, school-specific recruiting events, online recruiting events and all yield events, coordinating with faculty and current students. Work with Undergraduate Admissions to coordinate School-specific communications to prospective students.

Develop and support all events aimed at creating community and retaining students. Oversee the distribution of departmental and School-wide scholarship awards.

4. BS/JD - 3+3 Advising. Oversee curriculum planning and advising for all 3+3 BS/JD students, including enforcing GPA requirements, dismissals from program, and transition planning into Law School. Responsible for recruiting efforts for this program, working with Undergraduate Admissions and Seton Hall Law School.

5. Social Media & Communication. Management of School’s social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, aimed at creating brand awareness and sharing value proposition with prospective students, alumni, and industry partners.

Required Qualifications:

For candidates with a master’s degree:
o Experience as an academic administrator in the higher education environment.
o Excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
o Knowledge of accreditation processes, with a special focus on AACSB accreditation.

For candidates with a terminal degree:
o PhD or other terminal degree in a business discipline domain or a field that is closely aligned with business.
o Demonstrated record of active scholarship and effective teaching.
o Excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
o Knowledge of accreditation processes, with a special focus on AACSB accreditation.

Desired Qualifications:

Prior experience in an academic leadership role.
