The Career Center is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Event Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events to support the Career Center's mission of providing students with career opportunities. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for event planning, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Event Planning and Execution:
• Plan and execute a diverse range of events, including career fairs, networking events, and our annual “Get Hired! Senior Boot Camp”.
• Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, catering, registration, budget management, etc.
• Serve as the main point of contact for assigned events for external partners and ensure a positive experience for all participants.
• Partner with employers, alumni, and faculty to ensure successful event outcomes.
• Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of events for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Career Advisors to align events with the needs and interests of students.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, student organizations and other stakeholders to enhance participation in Career Center events.

2. Communication and Promotion:
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events and increase attendance.
• Create compelling event materials, including invitations, posters, and social media content.
• Collaborate with the Career Center's team to leverage various channels for event promotion.

3. Data Management:
• Track and analyze event metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of event expenses, attendance, and other relevant data.
• Prepare post-event reports and recommendations for future improvements.
• Develop and maintain a database of student and alumni contacts for targeted outreach.

4. Project Management & Administrative Tasks:
• Supports internal career teams and participates in university-wide committees.
• Conducts administrative tasks and prepares reports and professional correspondence.
• Locate additional web-based career preparation systems and contribute to updating content on the Career Center's Website and social media sites supported by The Career Center.
Communications: Individual in-person and virtual meetings, with employers, and alumni, as well as visits with new employers.

Oral (e.g., one-on-one presentations): Conduct outreach to internal and external stakeholders to keep them and their students apprised of Career Center programs/activities.

Written (e.g., press releases, completing forms): Create promotional and supplemental materials for Career Center events, which include flyers, posters, postcards, and online content for internal and external stakeholders.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree – Field of study: event management, marketing, communications, or a related field.

Desired Qualifications:

Master's preferred

Salary Grade:

AD150 - Administrative

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt

Physical Demands: General Office Environment
