The School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) at Seton Hall University invites applications for a twelve-month faculty position at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy beginning July 1, 2024. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the department’s Director of Clinical Education (DCE) and all the DCEs in the School of Health and Medical Sciences.
The School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University has a significant national presence in health sciences education. The School has assumed a leadership role in offering high quality, innovative programs at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels with a longstanding commitment to interprofessional education (IPE). The School of Health and Medical Sciences offers opportunities for collaborative research, teaching, and grantsmanship across several disciplines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical education, didactic teaching, scholarship, administrative duties, and service. These may include advising and mentoring students in the clinical environment, administrative tasks related to fieldwork education, simulated education, scholarship, and participation in department, school and university committees as assigned. The focus of this position will be on the development of 1. new fieldwork sites with a focus on emerging practice sites, 2. simulation experiences, 3. development of a systematic service-learning program, and 4.support international fieldwork exchange program.
Required Qualifications:
Licensure or eligibility for New Jersey licensure, a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, and a terminal degree. Applicants who are at the final stages of completing their terminal degree will also be considered.
