Adjunct Professor - Writing in South Orange
Seton Hall University seeks adjunct instructors to teach sections of our first-year writing classes. These are composition courses with an emphasis on rhetorical analysis. They fall into two categories: English 1201 is a composition course with a rhetorical focus, stressing textual and visual analysis, while English 1202 is an academic writing course focused on literature. Candidates must have experience teaching composition in a college or university setting and, at minimum, an MA in a related field. CV and letter of interest are required to apply; a statement of teaching philosophy, course evaluations from a composition class, and up to three letters of reference are recommended. PCSS Graduate Assistant 2024-2025 (SHU Graduate Student Only) in South Orange
The GA (Graduate Assistant) will assist the Technology Operations Management Office with overseeing a work-study staff which supports the Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) in various areas such as the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center, Walsh Library Computer Lab, Esports Gaming Lab, Service Desk, Technical Support Area, and IT (Information Technology) administrative offices. The position does not follow the academic calendar. The GA is responsible for covering evening and weekend hours when needed. The GA will utilize office programs to complete tasks and projects as assigned. Projects include assisting with managing departmental budget and expenditures, updating spreadsheets, etc. Proficiency in Excel is required.

The Department of Biological Sciences at Seton Hall University is seeking applicants interested in a full-time position for academic advising of undergraduate dual degree and nursing majors. The advisor will advise approximately 300 undergraduate students, provide registration PIN numbers to their advisees as appropriate, file necessary paperwork associated with advisees (e.g. Curriculum Adjustment Forms, Course Adjustment Forms, Applications for Overload, etc.), meet with students regarding grading and other academic concerns, assist at recruitment events and in contacting incoming students, and keep records of all paperwork and activities pertaining to advisement. Orientation and guidance can be obtained from consultation with Biology Dept’s Coordinator for Academic Advising; coordinator will also provide list of advisees.
