Law School Clinical Teaching Fellows in Newark
Seton Hall University School of Law welcomes applications for Clinical Teaching Fellowships to begin in the fall of 2024. The Center for Social Justice is home to most of the Law School's clinical programs. For more details about the clinics, please visit our website at https://law.shu.edu/clinics/index.html. The New Jersey State Bar Foundation (NJSBF) Clinical Teaching Fellowship is designed to launch the teaching careers of practitioners with at least 3-5 years of practice experience. The fellows will have the opportunity to co-teach with an experienced clinician and to participate in supervision rounds and discussions of clinical pedagogy with clinical teaching fellows from Rutgers Newark and Seton Hall. The fellows also will be mentored in pursuit of scholarship interests and goals. The Seton Hall Law School Center for Social Justice seeks to hire two teaching fellows, beginning in the 2024-25 academic year, as described below. The fellows will be hired for 1 year, with the possibility of continuation for an additional 1 or 2 years.

The Stillman School of Business seeks to hire an Associate Dean of Assessment and Engagement, with a start date of January 2025 or earlier. The Associate Dean of Assessment and Engagement is a member of the senior leadership team and works with the team to set goals and strategy across all domains of the School. The Associate Dean is responsible for undergraduate and MBA assurance of learning/assessment. The Associate Dean also leads efforts to engage alumni and industry professionals in our students’ experience and has primary responsibility for undergraduate recruiting and yield efforts. The Associate Dean teaches two courses per year. We will consider: (1) administrators with at least a master’s degree and applicable experience in a higher education environment or (2) faculty with a terminal degree who would be offered an option to pursue tenure.

Managing Attorney, Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative in Newark
The Immigrants’ Rights/International Human Rights Clinic at Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking to hire an experienced attorney to serve as the Managing Attorney for the Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative (DDDI). The Managing Attorney will work with Professor Lori A. Nessel, Director of the Immigrants’ Rights/International Human Rights Clinic, and practitioners-in-residence, post-graduate immigration detention fellows, clinical faculty, and staff. This is a year-round non-teaching position, contingent on renewed funding. The Immigrants’ Rights/International Human Rights Clinic is part of the Center for Social Justice, home to most of the Law School’s clinical and experiential programs. The Clinic is one of four partners in an exciting and innovative project, funded by the state of New Jersey, to provide legal representation to detained noncitizens. Seton Hall Law’s immigration detention project currently encompasses two practitioners-in-residence, two post-graduate immigration detention fellows, law students, and two full-time paralegals. Seton Hall University School of Law is just a block from Newark Penn Station, a short train ride or drive from New York City.
