JOB SUMMARY

The Innovation Hub Studio Assistant – Innovation Hub supports the daily operations of Seton Hall University’s Innovation Hub, a multidisciplinary space designed to promote hands-on learning, innovation, and technology engagement. IHSAs assist in maintaining a functional, welcoming, and well-managed environment for students, faculty, and staff utilizing the Hub’s studios, equipment, and collaborative spaces.

This position is well suited for students with an interest in technology, innovation, problem-solving, and customer service, and offers practical experience supporting emerging technologies within a professional academic setting.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide front-line support across Innovation Hub spaces, including the Maker Studio, XR/AI Studio, Content Creation Studios, and Solutions Studio
  • Greet and assist users by providing general information on available spaces, equipment, and services
  • Monitor studio usage to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Assist with basic technology support needs, including laptops, mobile devices, network access, and peripherals; escalate complex issues to professional staff as appropriate
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs to ensure spaces are organized, operational, and prepared for use
  • Support opening and closing procedures, space readiness, and basic troubleshooting tasks
  • Assist professional staff and fellow IHSAs with events, workshops, and the implementation of new services
  • Represent DoIT and the Innovation Hub in a professional, courteous, and service-oriented manner

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a currently enrolled Seton Hall University student
  • Demonstrates a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Possesses basic technical knowledge and a willingness to learn new technologies and systems; must be able to work independently to complete assigned tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and professional staff
  • Experience in writing, technology, or related fields is a plus
  • Familiarity with content management systems or similar platforms is preferred but not required
