Assistant Professor of User Experience & Interface Design (Tenure-Track) in South Orange
The Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts within the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media at Seton Hall University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in User Experience & Interface Design. The successful candidate will have professional and/or academic experience in UX/UI and visual design. The ability to teach front end coding languages and interaction design methods is a plus. The individual will play an essential role in the UX/UI certificate and the design curriculum in the Art, Design and Interactive Multimedia Program. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have experience teaching. We are very interested in candidates who can help develop curriculum and design new courses. The new faculty member will advise students and be an active service member in the College and University. They will support and contribute to the College’s culture of diversity, equity and inclusivity and participate in an interdisciplinary community dedicated to creative collaboration. This position entails a 18-credit teaching requirement during the academic year, commensurate with Department needs, and is expected to begin in August 2025.

Community Engagement Lead in Newark
The New Jersey Legal Design Lab at Seton Hall Law School’s Center for Social Justice (CSJ) seeks to hire a Community Engagement Lead. The CSJ is home to most of the law school’s clinics that train law students through hands-on legal work. The Center provides free legal services to individuals who are disadvantaged and underrepresented through client representation, impact litigation, public policy advocacy, transactional legal assistance, and community education efforts. The Housing Justice Project, established in 2021 with funding from the State of New Jersey, is a collaboration between Seton Hall Law School’s Center for Social Justice and Rutgers Law School. It provides representation and support to tenants in housing disputes, engages students in housing justice work, and advocates for broader social change in landlord-tenant law. In the spring of 2023, the Housing Justice Project launched the New Jersey Legal Design Lab. The Lab facilitates creative, collaborative, and community-driven approaches to housing justice issues in New Jersey. The Community Engagement Lead will play a pivotal role in advancing housing justice by working closely with tenants, local community organizations, advocacy groups, and law students. The anticipated salary for the position is $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience.

The fellow will have the opportunity to co-teach with an experienced clinician and to participate in supervision rounds and discussions of clinical pedagogy with clinical teaching fellows from Rutgers Newark and Seton Hall. The fellow also will be mentored in pursuit of scholarship interests and goals. The Seton Hall Law School Center for Social Justice seeks to hire a teaching fellow, beginning in the 2024-25 academic year, as described below. The fellow will be hired for 1 year, with the possibility of continuation for an additional 1 or 2 years.

Senior Student Success Advisor in South Orange
The Senior Student Success Advisor will report directly to the Assistant Dean for the Center for Academic Success. The Senior Student Success Advisor will serve as the primary supervisor for their assigned team and oversee the day–to–day responsibilities. The Senior Student Success Advisor will lead a core functional area (i.e. Pirate Pathway, Curriculum, Transfer, Undecided/Undeclared Students). The Senior Student Success Advisor will assist the Assistant Dean in the supervision of the Center for Academic Success. They will directly serve an assigned cohort of undergraduate students as the initial point of service for all first-year students in assisting and guiding their adjustment to university life. Will work with the Assistant Dean and other colleagues to initiate development of CORE-1001, SKIL-1104 and SKIL-1106 curriculum for fall and spring semesters. Will advise students' course registration throughout the first year with ongoing monitoring of academic progress throughout the first year. The "first-year" is defined as the successful completion of 30 credits.
