Lab Coordinator in South Orange
The Department of Biological Sciences at Seton Hall University seeks a full-time Lab Coordinator. Briefly, this lab lecturer would be expected to teach 12 credits per academic year of undergraduate teaching labs and/or lab lectures. This faculty’s responsibility would also include lab preparations, maintaining lab facilities, and completing tasks associated with teaching-lab functions for multiple courses. More specifically, the hire would be expected to: (1) coordinate labs courses with other faculty to maintain a consistent and academically strong curriculum; (2) meet with faculty, graduate assistants, and adjuncts to standardize grading & content for core courses (i.e. general biology, anatomy & physiology, genetics, cell biology, nonmajors anatomy & physiology, etc.); (3) support/train graduate students who are teaching laboratory courses; (4) assist with managing safety and OSHA compliance within the lab facilities; (5) and assist with other day-day activities that are important to a functional department (e.g. exam proctoring).

Biology Undergraduate Academic Advisor in South Orange
The Department of Biological Sciences at Seton Hall University is seeking applicants interested in a full-time position for academic advising of undergraduate dual degree and nursing majors. The advisor will advise approximately 300 undergraduate students, provide registration PIN numbers to their advisees as appropriate, file necessary paperwork associated with advisees (e.g. Curriculum Adjustment Forms, Course Adjustment Forms, Applications for Overload, etc.), meet with students regarding grading and other academic concerns, assist at recruitment events and in contacting incoming students, and keep records of all paperwork and activities pertaining to advisement. Orientation and guidance can be obtained from consultation with Biology Dept’s Coordinator for Academic Advising; coordinator will also provide list of advisees.

A Ph.D. in Physics or Applied Physics and a research specialization in Engineering is required.
