Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will interact with several Seton Hall campus offices and indirectly with specific government agencies regarding international students, scholars and study abroad students. This position will assist in processing documents and generally advising all F1 and J1 (visa holders), their spouses and dependents on all three campuses. This involves using several software programs Banner, International Student and Scholar Portal and others. Graduate Assistant will also be required to learn basics about F-1 visa and J-1 visa regulations.

This position will help coordinate several events throughout the year such as, orientations for new international students, study abroad fairs, pre-departure orientations, events during international month, etc. This position will also occasionally represent the OIP at meetings, workshops, the Open House, Pirate Preview and other related events.

This position will involve a wide variety of administrative and secretarial duties including correspondence, editing forms, answering the phone and emails, greeting students, making appointments, updating the website, social media and newsletter, etc. This position will involve using Microsoft Office to produce documents, tables and charts and International Student and Scholar Portal (Terra Dotta database) to access student information and produce reports.

This position will also assist study abroad functions and operations for the office as needed. Other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). At least two years of administrative experience is required. Knowledge of F1, J1 visa regulations and/or study aboard processes a plus, but not required. Training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be mature, well-organized, a self-starter, patient with non-native English speakers and well-adapted to a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
