Seton Hall Law School seeks to hire an Associate Professor to serve as the Associate Dean for Academics with responsibility for the development, implementation, and oversight of the program of legal education and to teach both required and elective courses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Serve as the chief academic officer of the School of Law, with responsibility for the development, implementation, and oversight of the program of legal education.

*Provide strategic leadership to advance the law school’s academic mission, to ensure curricular innovation, academic excellence, and compliance with accreditation standards, and to deliver an outstanding educational experience for students.

*Collaboratively lead the planning, development, assessment, and revision of the academic curriculum in partnership with the faculty through shared governance.

*Collaborate with faculty to ensure high-quality course offerings, program coherence, and pedagogical effectiveness.

*Monitor academic performance and progress of students and ensure appropriate interventions and support systems are in place.

* Develop and implement academic policies, procedures, and standards in consultation with faculty committees, administrators, and the dean.

*Coordinate academic scheduling, course assignments, and teaching loads in consultation with the dean and faculty.

* Ensure compliance with ABA accreditation standards and other relevant regulatory and reporting requirements.

*Prepare for accreditation self-studies, site visits, and other regulatory reviews and reporting.

*Oversee academic advising, bar exam preparation programs, and academic support services.

*Address student academic concerns and issues related to academic standing, grading, or course completion.

*Promote academic integrity and investigate academic misconduct cases in accordance with school policies.

*Participate in institutional decision-making and strategic planning and represent the academic interests of the law school to internal and external stakeholders.

*Assist with recruitment, admissions, and employment efforts.

* Supervise multiple departments including Enrollment Services, Student Services, Academic Success, and Career Services.

*Teach required and/or elective courses as needed in keeping with expected courseloads for faculty with administrative responsibilities. Teaching responsibilities include course instruction, availability to and mentorship of students, creation of syllabi and assessments, and collaboration with faculty to ensure consistent instruction in courses taught.

*Support the intellectual life and scholarly mission of the law school by supporting the faculty’s research and scholarship, attending scholarly colloquium and workshops, and/or contributing directly to scholarly discourse in academic or professional communities.

Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor Degree; Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience in higher legal education, 10-15 years in the legal profession, substantial supervisory experience, and excellent academic records.

Salary Range:

$110,400 - $171,360
