Seton Hall University’s Interprofessional Health Sciences Campus in Nutley, NJ, is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of IT Operations to oversee and manage the IT infrastructure, support services, and technical operations across the campus. This leadership role involves close collaboration with faculty, staff, and administrators to ensure seamless IT service delivery, maintenance, and enhancement, supporting the academic and operational goals of the campus. In addition to working for Seton Hall University, this role will collaborate with and provide services to the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Liaison and Collaboration:
o Serve as the primary point of contact between the IT department and the Deans, Assistant Deans, faculty, and staff to ensure effective IT operations supporting the campus' needs.
o Work closely with South Orange IT management to resolve general IT issues, ensuring timely and effective communication of any matters impacting campus-wide systems.
o Notify senior personnel in Nutley of system or network upgrades, outages, and other regular maintenance that may affect service.
o Foster collaboration with Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine on joint IT projects and services delivered to the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, including network services, simulation, classroom and lab support, and other IT services.
Team Leadership:
o Oversee and provide direction to local teams, including Media Services, PC Support, and Simulation technicians, ensuring high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
o Direct the efforts of these teams to proactively identify and address IT issues, while maintaining top-tier technical support for staff, students, and faculty.

Building Infrastructure Maintenance:
o Maintain and oversee the building’s Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system, working with Seton Hall’s approved vendors to ensure uptime and operational continuity.
o Working with Lenel Systems, and Boon Edam for physical access control for door locks, turnstiles and access control.
General IT Oversight:
o Manage day-to-day IT operations, providing strategic guidance to ensure continuous improvements in service delivery and technology management.
o Lead initiatives to enhance and coordinate upgrades or replacements to the campus’ IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with university goals and advancements in technology.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
10+ years of experience in IT management, including leadership roles within an academic or healthcare environment.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, systems administration, media services, and simulation technologies.
• Proven ability to lead and manage IT teams, collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and provide superior customer service.
Experience with vendor management.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with senior-level academic and administrative staff.

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledgeable of IT systems supporting interprofessional healthcare and academic environments.
Experience in higher education or medical simulation technology is a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
