Seton Hall University seeks an experienced project manager to lead the University’s transition from our current self-hosted Banner student, finance, and HR /payroll system to Banner SaaS. The Senior Project Manager will work with Seton Hall University leaders, cross functional teams from academic and administrative areas, external consultants and contractors, and University partners to ensure the Banner SaaS Project meets University goals and is completed on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Plan Development and Management - Develop and manage the Banner SaaS project plan to ensure alignment with university goals and objectives. Oversee the project timeline, scope, and milestones to ensure successful completion on time, within budget and following quality standards. Identify, anticipate, and mitigate risks to the project goals, timeline, and budget. Develop strategies to address potential issues before they impact the project's success.
Stakeholder Requirements Analysis and System Optimization - Collect and analyze requirements from stakeholders to align with the new Banner SaaS system. Assist in identifying process and data access improvements and opportunities for automation with foundational technologies (i.e., Ellucian Ethos, Experience, and Insights, along with a “SaaS ready” eProcurement system). Support the planning of the redesign of current Banner integrations, modifications, and workflows to prepare the University for migration from the self-hosted Banner system to Banner SaaS.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building - Build and maintain relationships with University leaders, team members, stakeholders, and University partners to serve as an agent of positive change. Facilitate meetings with University leaders, project teams, and stakeholders to negotiate decisions affecting the project scope, timeline, and budget. Schedule functional and technical resources, both internal and external.
Project Documentation and Reporting - Document project progress, decisions, risks, tasks, and costs. Communicate the project plan, goals, status, and issues through various means, including a widely shared project dashboard.
Budget Management - Manage the project budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately and effectively to meet project goals and constraints.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
3-5 years of relevant work experience
Specialized Knowledge: Significant knowledge of project management principles associated with Ellucian Banner migrations.
Analytical: Ability to solve problems and analyze complex data to make informed decisions to formulate appropriate action plans.
Project/Process Management: Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team of diverse individuals to complete broad goals and objectives.
Computer/Technical: A deep understating of the use of information technology in higher education to positively impact the teaching and learning experience and the administrative effectiveness of the University. Knowledge of modern project management tools.
Written Communications: Must be able to clearly articulate a problem, goal or objective with the intent to garner broad support. Must be able to document the current status of a project including goals, outstanding and completed tasks, issues and budget considerations.
Oral Communications: Must be able to clearly present to both small and large audiences to report activities of a project, present an issue that needs a resolution, or a concept/theory being presented.
