Within a centralized financial aid services environment, evaluates, approves, and awards financial aid to students in accordance with federal, state, and university regulations, policies, and operating guidelines. Assesses financial needs of students, and advises students regarding financial aid options, processes, and requirements. Participates as appropriate in systems/procedures planning and management; implements and coordinates specific individual programs and/or assignments, in accordance with the overall objectives of the department
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and evaluate financial viability of students, and provides advice and counsel regarding available financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, and the application process. Meeting with students to assist in the Financial Aid process whether in person or virtually.
- Review,verify, and assess applications and support documents in accordance with established guidelines to determine financial aid eligibility through the Federal Verification process.
- Complete Financial Aid Workshops and Trainings supporting the office.
- Supervises Federal Workstudy students in the office. Responsible for managing a Federal workstudy student in their daily tasks as they support the Financial Aid office.
- Manage University Scholarship Awarding Process. Responsible for the selection of recipients, the awarding of scholarships, and the notification of awards. Work in collaboration with other departments on and off campus to ensure timely posting of awards and reconciliation of accounts. Coordinates the Scholarship Appeals process from notifying students, receiving appeals, organizing the committee and announcing the decisions.
- Administer and manage the Student loan program, and coordinate all processing activities for the Direct lending and Alternative loan programs in excess of $100M. Assure that the university remains compliant with Federal, State, Institutional, and Private loan and grant programs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Desired Qualifications:
1-3 years higher education experience.
Familiar with Ellucian Banner.
