The director of the Lonergan institute oversees the administration of the institute’s various responsibilities outlined above. These include, the publication of the Lonergan Review, planning signature lectures, cosponsoring related lectures, interacting with the Micah and Chesterton Institutes which together constitute the Center for Catholic Studies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Supervise administration of the Institute
 Oversee the publication of the Lonergan Review (LR)
 Solicit scholarly articles for LR
 Conduct peer review process for LR
 Coordinate with managing editor to publish LR
 Coordinate campus events (speakers, conferences, activities) that promote directly or indirectly the thought and life of Bernard Lonergan
 Coordinate with and assist as necessary the Center for Servant Leadership regarding the Seminars on Mission and the Praxis program
 Coordinate with other Center for Catholic Studies Institutes as appropriate (e.g., The Micah and Chesterton Institutes)
 Sit on the Center for Catholic Studies advisory board (ex officio)
 Support broader Center for Catholic Studies mission, goals, and events

Required Qualifications:

 Strong knowledge of Lonergan’s life, thought, and work (MA or PhD preferred)
 Ability to communicate that knowledge in speech and in writing to diverse audiences of people
 Familiarity with academic culture and academic publication
 Ability to collaborate with other departments and institutions
 Ability to seek creative ways to develop and apply Lonergan’s thought to contemporary culture and in faculty development settings
 Dedication to the Catholic identity and mission of Seton Hall University
 Willingness to travel to relevant conferences and events in the US and abroad
 Ability to develop and update content for the Institute’s website
 Facility with Microsoft Office products
