Responsibilities:
- Serve as an ambassador for the University by providing tours of campus, attending virtual events and attending large scale admissions events, such as Open House and admitted student days.
Serve as a resource to prospective students and family members for the Office of Admissions by engaging with them via phone, email and in person.
Provide a student perspective on University life.
Attend and actively participate in all required meetings.
Attend and actively participate in all required training programs.
Have basic experience with computers and familiarity with the University e-mail system and PirateNet.
Assist with a variety of manual tasks such as moving boxes, filing etc.
Ability to effectively handle administrative tasks such as answering the phone, filing, copying, processing mail, etc.
Disseminate appropriate information to prospective students and family members in an effective and timely fashion.
Arrive on time for all work obligations.
Possess a basic knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
Be familiar with University offices, departments, and resources.
Work independently and in groups, sometimes under pressure.
Have an understanding of the Mission of the University
Qualifications:
- Have successfully completed the interview process for Blue Crew that took place in the Spring 2023 and been selected as Blue Crew.
Successfully completed 30 credits by May 2023.
Be registered for a full time course (12 credits) load for Fall 2023.
Be in good academic standing.
Be in good judicial standing.
- Available to keep in communication with prospective students and family members.
Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.
Be able to provide prompt and courteous customer service to prospective students and families.
Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
Listen and respond to personal concerns and issues with a supportive attitude and assist students with obtaining appropriate University assistance.
Be familiar with the Village of South Orange community.
Assist students and parents with academic questions.
Possess excellent presentation skills
