Responsibilities:
This job requires attendance to every class for either CSAS 1114/1115 or CSAS 2123/2124 as assigned. Experience as a programmer using the Racket-based student language and the Program-by-Design methodology is also required. Duties include:
Answering student questions during class
Solving computer technical issues that arise in class
Developing and presenting a selection of programs throughout the semester
Evaluating student programs
Preparing study guides as a student for students
Assisting the instructor with proctoring quiz and exams
Two weekly office hours
Approximately 8 hours of tutoring/recitation hours.
Requirements: Good communication skills, problem solving skills, level of responsibility
Achieved at least a B+ in the class that the tutor covers.
Desired applicants have taken one of the following classes:
Math 1203, 1205, 1015, 1401/1501, 1411/1511, 2111
CSAS 1114, CSAS 1115
At least a B+ average in Math and/or Computer Science classes.
Recommendation from Dr. Morazan for CSAS 1114/1115 tutoring.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Excel, StatsCrunch, Mathematica. Racket
- Proficiency in Racket-based student language, Java, Python, and Program-by-Design methodology.
