Housing Justice Corps Fellow

Members of the Housing Justice Corps will be part of a network of advocates, some of whom will work in the Center for Social Justice, while others are placed at other legal services providers and community organizations.  The Housing Justice Corps is a community of advocates with close ties who maintain effective interaction throughout their service in the Housing Justice Corps. Extensive training and mentoring provided.   

Duties and Responsibilities:

Undertake extensive initial training through the Housing Justice Project and ongoing training during the duration of the position. Provide legal representation to low-income people in matters affecting housing stability.
Participate in stakeholder and community/advocacy meetings and engage in housing advocacy.
Provide community education and outreach in the area of housing stability.

Required Qualifications:

J.D. law degree required; Recently graduated law student who will sit for the next available NJ Bar Exam; or up to 5 years experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated commitment to public interest and social justice. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus. Experience working with community organizations.
