This position oversees the clinical skills lab operations for the College of Nursing. The position is responsible for directing student clinical skills education and collaborates with faculty related to scheduling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs student clinical skills education. Responsible for the daily operations of the skills lab creating an environment that supports high level teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students. Develops instructional materials regarding the set-up and usage of a wide variety of clinical models and mannequins.
Monitors daily operation of skills lab. Establishes clinical skill lab stations; sets up and removes equipment and supplies to accommodate the needs of faculty and students. Remediates students’ skills as necessary when referred by clinical faculty using developed remediation plan. Monitors operations in skills labs for offsite campus.
Schedules and coordinates training sessions and clinical lab sessions for faculty and staff.. Assists the Director of Simulation Lab in scheduling graduate assistants; delegate’s responsibilities to GA’s as appropriate. Works collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Simulation in delivery of simulation experiences.
Assists with revisions of policies and procedures, as well as schedules, inventory, and equipment lists for all services provided within the skills lab. Creates supply orders of hardware, software, and clinical skills equipment and supplies. Works collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Simulation and the Simulation Specialist in maintaining all lab equipment.
Required Qualifications:
MSN
3-5 years relevant work experience
