Seton Hall University invites applications for the position of Dean of its School of Diplomacy and International Relations. Founded in 1856, Seton Hall is the oldest and one of the largest diocesan universities in the United States. Its main campus is in South Orange, New Jersey, with satellite campuses in Newark (School of Law) and Clifton and Nutley (College of Nursing and School of Health and Medical Sciences).

The School of Diplomacy prepares students from around the world to be leaders in a global society. Its innovative undergraduate and graduate programs provide students with the critical skills and knowledge needed for international careers in public service, business, law, and the nonprofit sector. Through a unique alliance with the United Nations Association of the USA, a key division of the United Nations Foundation, students are exposed to today’s leaders and policymakers while experiencing diplomacy at work. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Dean will be charged to continue the School's rise to international prominence.
  • The Dean will lead the School's ongoing effort to raise its academic profile by recruiting high quality students and faculty, by further developing its curriculum, and by fundraising. A record of success in forming partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders is essential.
  • Applicants are expected to have the appropriate academic preparation, including a terminal degree in a discipline represented in the School of Diplomacy and International Relations as well as proven, recognized leadership and management experience in an APSIA affiliated or full member school.
  • Applicants must embrace and be able to articulate the Catholic academic mission of Seton Hall University.
