The Associate Athletics Director/Ticket Operations is responsible for all operations within the Seton Hall Athletics Ticket Office. This position ensures appropriate and effective transparency and communication of operations in all ticket office functions including communications with athletics department leadership and appropriate internal and external auditors, including the compiling of all financial data regarding ticket revenue, game settlements, and audits for all events. The Associate Athletics Director will oversee and plan the sale, distribution, record keeping (financial and otherwise) and customer relations for all tickets sales efforts conducted by the athletics department, which shall include student, staff, and all other tickets for events taking place in Walsh Gymnasium, Newark Prudential Center, Owen T. Carroll Field, as well as for all away games and any other events determined by the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and assist with the sales and tracking efforts of contracted, outside ticket sales groups, including Ticketmaster and the Prudential Center Box Office; as well as managing the same activities in the on-campus Athletic Ticket Office.

Work with Outside Groups:
a. Coordinate all ticket activities with the Prudential Center Arena box office
b. Coordinate all activity with Ticketmaster
c. Coordinate ticket sales and sponsorship efforts of outside marketing partners.
d. Coordinate all ticket activities for away games with the appropriate box office officials

Record Keeping:
a. Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing with the design of
tickets, applications and forms
b. Collect and file/record all data from applications and payments
c. Make all deposits; record all financial transactions
d. Fulfill ticket orders
e. Perform routine data maintenance/reports for computer software
f. Compile and report ticket and financial data on a regular basis for Athletics Department management and university budget department.

Customer Service:
a. Field and act on all customer inquiries, (including email inquiries received through our web site) comments and complaints
b. Disseminate all ticket information
c. Fulfill group and special requests
d. Develop and fulfill customer premium promotions
Management of student staff:
a. Hire and train staff
b. Schedule staff
c. Oversee daily operations of office

NCAA Compliance:
a. Record and monitor information and procedures mandated by NCAA
b. Report and update this information for the Associate Athletic Director for

2. Work with the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs in all ticket-related marketing efforts.
Plan, Design and Implement all Ticket Sales Materials:
a. Write, produce and disseminate all ticket-related letter/brochure/electronic mailings, including season ticket invoicing
b. Approve ad and promotional designs developed by outside contractors
c. Design and produce all tickets

3. Act as Athletics Department liaison with Pirate Blue and the Development Office for the tracking and implementation of all ticket-related benefit programs.

Coordinate Ticket-related Activities of the Pirate Blue Athletics Fund:
a. Implement Pirate Blue seating upgrades
b. Coordinate post season ticket distribution according to priority system based on donations

4. Maintain Ticketmaster/Archtics computerized ticketing system and patron database
a. Prepare financial reports on revenue, sales, and attendance
b. Analyze results and market trends
c. Work in conjunction with the support team provided by Ticketmaster

5. Manage ticketing operations for NCAA/NIT hosted events
a. Prepare financial reports on revenue, sales, and attendance
b. Coordinate all ticket activities with the Prudential Center Arena box office
c. Fulfill all ticket orders

6. Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Digital Media in the maintenance of the SHU Pirates Tickets websites.
a. Assist in site updates
b. Interact with fans/users within social networking environment via the Tickets social media pages
c. Publicize official team initiatives throughout social networking environment
d. Upload videos, photos, and other relevant content to the SHU Pirates social
networking sites

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree; 1-3 years ticket operations for intercollegiate athletics or professional sports organization.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree; Knowledge of Ticketmaster Archtics Ticketing Software; knowledge of NCAA and BIG EAST compliance rules; knowledge of Microsoft Office Software

  • Driver's License
