Responsibilities:

  • Below is a list of the duties of the Student Executive Producer as they oversee the organization and execution of the Pirate TV news show:

    *Oversee the Pirate TV News Department, which includes three (3) weekly tapings of Pirate news and any on-campus/remove event coverage.
    *Oversee the Pirate TV Sports Department, which involves weekly tapings of Hall Talk and all on-campus/remove postgame coverage of Seton Hall Athletics.
    *Oversee the Pirate TV Specialty Show Department, which includes any in-studio programming or on-campus interviews that does not fall under News or Sports. (Examples include: Talk Shows, Political Discussion Shows, Fiction Shows, etc.)
    *Create bi-weekly anchor schedules for Pirate News and Hall Talk.
    *Regularly email communications with all members to ensure all possess current schedule and operations information.
    *Scheduling and Running Monthly Producer Meetings.
    *Responsible for all Pirate TV Productions running smoothly and effectively.
    *Recruiting new members, Producers, and eventually the next Executive Producer of Pirate TV.
    *Training any new on-air anchors, crew members, or volunteers.
    *Collaborate with a team of approximately nine (9) Producers to determine how to improve Pirate TV and better build the brand and awareness.
    *Keeping track of Pirate Television Volunteer Hours for Studio Production I and II classes.
    *Manage equipment within the television studio, along with university work studies.
    *Planning and running end-of-semester pizza socials for all volunteers, producers, and members.
    *Representing Pirate Television across campus and volunteering at Open Houses, Admissions Events, and any other University-related functions.
    *Being a part of the Comm Arts Board and attending monthly meetings where we collaborate and work with the Dean's Office and other student leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of TV Studio equipment is helpful.
  • Previous experience is preferred.
  • This position is from September 2021 to May 2022.
