Responsibilities:
- Attend virtual supervision meetings & trainings (MANDATORY)
-Serve as tutors/mentors for program’s participants and assist with college preparedness tasks
-Serve as a positive role model for students
-Document tutoring and mentoring logs promptly for payment
-Commitment to supporting positive youth development
-Efficient time management
-Provide academic advisement to scholars
-Assist with the collection of project services data (i.e., attendance log, phone log, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate students with at least 2 years of post-secondary education completed (sophomore, junior, senior).
Ability to work two (2) Saturdays out of the month for a total of four (4) hours; one (1) mentorship, and three (3) hours of tutoring
-Minimum of 1 year of experience working with high school undeserved student populations in some capacity
Ability to tutor in one or more of the following subject areas: Algebra I & II, English, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, US/World History, and Spanish.
- Ability to use a variety of engagement strategies/features for remote learning using zoom or Google Meet or Google Handouts
-Experience mentoring/tutoring children and teenagers
-3.0 GPA or better in a tutorial subject (s)
-Excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office)
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Able to develop a positive rapport with students and interact well with students of diverse backgrounds
