The Staff Psychologist/Mental Health Clinician supports the University’s strategic initiative and commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all community members. The Staff Psychologist/ Mental Health Clinician works as a member of a collaborative team providing culturally informed assessment, short-term individual counseling, group counseling, case management, outreach and prevention programming and consultation services to EOP students. This position is a critical part of the University’s mental health service delivery and fully participates in a comprehensive program that is designed to enhance student development, foster responsible decision-making, facilitate the sense of campus community and assure equitable, accessible and quality clinical care to meet the psychological and developmental needs of students. The position requires possession of strong clinical skills, a demonstrated commitment to working effectively from a multicultural framework, the ability to manage a full client caseload, the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Intake assessments
  • Individual and group counseling/therapy
  • Telemental health services
  • Outreach and Prevention Programming
  • Consultation with staff, faculty and students
  • Case Management
  • Crisis Intervention

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology with 1-3 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree in Social Work with 3-5 years of relevant experience;
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in New Jersey or Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker.
  • Demonstrated competence in time-limited individual psychotherapy and group counseling with individuals of diverse backgrounds;
  • Proven ability and commitment to working within a multicultural responsive and inclusive counseling framework;
  • Demonstrated competence in outreach and prevention program planning and implementation;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to function independently;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges and stressors facing students with from backgrounds of economic and educational disadvantage;
  • Understanding of and willingness to support the Seton Hall University Catholic Mission.

Licenses and Certificates:

  • Licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in New Jersey or Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker.

Salary Grade:

  • AD180 - Administrative

  • Exempt

  • General Office Environment
