JOB SUMMARY

The Student Front Desk Worker serves as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors entering the TRIO SSS office. This position provides excellent customer service, supports office operations, and assists professional staff in ensuring a welcoming and organized environment for all program participants.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet students, staff, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.

Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.

Assist students with general questions about TRIO SSS services, events, and resources.

Schedule appointments for advisors and staff using the office calendar system.

Maintain front desk area and ensure materials (flyers, forms, resources) are stocked and up to date.

Assist with data entry, filing, and light clerical tasks.

Support preparation for workshops, events, and community meetings.

Uphold confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by professional staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Only WORK-STUDY Students

Must be a current undergraduate student in good academic standing.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry).

Previous customer service or office experience is a plus but not required.
